The Town Of Cotopaxi, Colorado

Cotopaxi is a small incorporated town located right on Highway 50 in western Fremont County. It is situated inside Bighorn Sheep Canyon with the Arkansas River running through it. |

Driving through Cotopaxi on the highway, the Cotopaxi General Store is the main landmark. |

River rafting and kayaking is very popular in this area, and the large orange sandstone structures that surround the river are quite recognizable. |

I actually drove north into some neighborhoods and upon coming back down from the Cotopaxi High School, I snapped this shot of this rugged terrain mountain behind the town. |
